– Connecting the Community –
1. A state of connectedness with one’s community.
2. The warm and fuzzies one gets connecting over a meal with friends and family.
WHEALTH, the modern-day grandma’s kitchen. Serving simple, honest cooking and good vibes to both a cozy retail location and catering clients across the JC/NYC area.
Founded by David Trotta in 2014, he started the company by driving around with a restaurant in the back of his car. He would cook for anyone who would let him host a dinner, cooking from a commissary, and picking up catering clients along the way. The addition of Gina Cassese as partner, in mid-2016, took the company from pop-ups to full-on catering. At the same time, the company opened a pop-up retail location in the Harborside JC to pave the way for the opening of their Flagship space.
If Jersey City had an actual heart, it would be Journal Square (SQ). The WHEALTH retail location joins the small businesses in the SQ that serve to get the blood pumping in the lost jewel of the city’s past. A cozy cafe that seats 30 tucked down “Whealth Alley.” Underneath the Journal Squared building, the cafe offers the SQ another place to gather, eat, work, and play. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a heavy programming schedule 7-days a week.
From your everyday breakfast drop-off of coffee and pastries to a 30-person cocktail party for your offspring’s wedding, the catering division of the company handles all events big and small. Bigger name brand work clients include Fisher-Price, Olay, Bandier, Jonathan Adler, and The Asbury Hotel.
At the end of the day whether cozy cafe setting or catering, we want you to feel warm, welcomed and taken care of every step of the way. Sometimes that is as simple as a warm meal.
